FSDC PARENT HANDBOOK
6/2 - Fast Times Relays - Warwick Valley H.S.
Running our "Returning Relays," with this year's meet being on the night of the Senior Prom; the future certainly looks bright for the Vikings. The Girls "A" team runs 10:15.91 for 5th place medals. The "B" team is led by Sophia Flynn's 14 sec PR with a 2:46.3. The frosh girls are impressive knocking down the Frosh 4x100  (54.14) and Frosh 4x400 (4:24.52) records. The Boys "Returning 4x800" is impressive racing in the thick of the seeded section most of the race. Junior Adam Vitale pops off with a 1:57.47 FAT split smashing not only 2 mins for the first time but 1:59 and 1:58! A 8:14.92 FAT is more than respectable heading into next year!

5/31 - Easterns - Iona Prep
A few athletes venture up to Iona Prep and are met with yet more cold, chilly & rainy weather. Jason Sarnicola wins the 2,000 steeple in 6:26.08 FAT.

5/31 - Frosh Islands & Last Chance Meet - St Joseph Sea
For the first time in at least the last 10 years; the Sea girls win the Frosh S.I. Championship! Buoyed by SEVEN individual champions the girls win the meet by almost 100 points! Caruso wins the hurdle double (400 IH & 110 HH) and Illuzzi takes the distance double (3000 & 1500). Lombardi wins the PV, Maira wins both the long & triple jumps. Pasqualone wins the discus in her first time throwing! The frosh boys take 4th overall.
In the "Last Chance" portion of the meet our sophs, juniors & seniors get a chance to compete for the final time this season recording several PR's despite the awful weather yet again this outdoor season!

5/24 - Catholic State Intersectionals - Icahn Stadium
What a day for the Vikings! A 2nd place finish is the BEST finish in school history in a meet that brings together the best Catholic schools from Buffalo, Westchester, Long Island and NYC! In total, the team wins SIX Catholic State Championships! Capt Matthew Brodsky gets things started off with a win in the 400 IH (55.45) - his first Catholic State title. Cody Doskocil (9:51.63) then leads a 1-2-3 finish in the 3,000 Steeple as Jason Sarnicola (9:45.16) & Rob Imparato (9:55.94) make CHSAA history as having the first team to have 3 boys break the 10 minute barrier in the 3,000 steeple in the same meet! Giuliana Collegio completed the "Iron Man" double for the 3rd meet in a row, winning her 1st and 2nd Catholic State titles in the 2,000 Steeple and 3,000. Her 7:35.42 in the steeple is the #11 time in S.I. History! Frances Maglione wins the Girls Discus with a toss of 118'-5", its the #6 throw in S.I. History! The Boys 4x400 wins an exciting race in 3:23.06 which is the #10 time in S.I. History! The Girls 4x100 and 4x800 earn 5th place medals. The 4x800, comprised of all frosh, break their frosh school record by ELEVEN seconds! The Boys 4x800, running with two "B" guys, takes third in 8:00.98. A young girls team spends much of the day in the lead and finishes in 4th overall with lots of upside for the future. A GREAT meet for the Vikings!

5/17 - NY/BQ Sectionals - GIRLS - Icahn Stadium
For the third year in a row the girls win the Outdoor NY Sectional title in convincing fashion. What made today's win even more impressive was that it came after a 7 point loss indoors. Giuliana Collegio wins the NYC & NY Sectional title in the 2,000 Steeple (7:40.80) and 3,000 (11:03.21) with the "Iron Man Double!" Frannie Maglione wins the NYC & NY Sectional titles in the discus (99'-3) as does Mariam Azer in the PV (7'-8). Eva Maira wins the NY Sectional title in the TJ - 30'-6.75"

5/17 - NY/BQ Sectionals - BOYS - Icahn Stadium
In what may be our best team meet of the outdoor season, a small yet competitive boys squad takes 3rd overall in the NY Sectionals. Matthew Brodsky wins the NYC & NY Sectional title in the 400 IH (55.90 FAT) and later doubles back in 49.12 to take the 400 as well. His 49.12 is also a new school record breaking the previous mark set by Jason Marchese (49.54 - 2019). Due to his efforts, Brodsky wins the Sectional Track MVP award. Jeremy Muccio break 50 for the first time open - 49.98. Muccio would later double up with a 49.4 4x400 split! Cody Doskocil leads a 1-2-3 finish in the 3,000 Steeple en route to a NYC & NY Sectional title. Shane McAnuff wins the NY Sectional title in the discus (140'-7).

5/10 - Louck's Games - White Plains H.S.
The Boys 4x400 heads up to White plains and runs a yearly best, and fastest time since 2019, with a 3:24.82 FAT. The time is impressive considering for some odd reason; the team competes in an unseeded section. Anchor Matthew Brodsky runs 48.8, the first 48 pt leg since Jason Marchese in 2019! The "A" team wins their heat and takes 6th overall.  Johnny Walz runs a big 2nd leg on the "B" team with a 51.8 PR.

FROSH GIRLS WIN CATHOLIC STATE TITLE!
Frosh/Soph Win SIX Catholic State Events!

5/10 - Frosh/Soph Catholic States - Icahn Stadium
The Frosh Girls win our First Ever, or perhaps our First Catholic State title in at least 25 years! Violet Illuzzi wins the 3,000 meters and Eva Maira wins the triple jump. Giulian Collegio wins the "Iron-Man Double" with 1st place finishes in the Soph 2,000 Steeple and 3,000 meters. Abby Walz takes 2nd in the 400 meters, and after a 5 minute break, wins the 100 meters! The Soph Girls tie for 2nd Place overall as a team. On the boys side, Jason Sarnicola breaks the Soph 2,000 Steeple with a solo time of 6:22.46 FAT. His time just misses qualifying for the Nationals and is the #13 time in S.I. History!

5/25-5/4 - Staten Island Champs - Sea/Tottenville
In what became the team's most competitive meet of the outdoor season thus far, both boys & girls take 2nd overall. For the girls, this 2nd place finish is the best finish by the Lady Vikings in twenty years! EIGHT Island Champions were crowned: Boys Steeple, Boys Discus, Boys 400, Boys 1600, Boys 4x400, Boys Shot, Girls Steeple, Girls Discus, Girls 3,000 and Girls 4x100. 4/27 - Frosh/Soph Sectionals - Icahn Stadium
In cold and very windy conditions our frosh/soph compete in their Sectional championships. Giuliana Collegio wins the frosh/soph 3,000 in 11:03.62 running all by herself for most of the race. Chris Perez wins the Soph 800 in 2:08 and runs a solid 52pt for 3rd in the 400 on the double. Kaylin Caruso wins the frosh/soph girls 100 hurdles with a PR of 20.12. Adam Vitale & Christian Garofano break 53 for the first time in the Varsity 4x400 and then double up in some solid 800's off a 20 minute recovery.

A few S.I. teams gather at Sea for a quick mini-meet to give our athletes a chance to knock off some holy week PR's. Nick Hans (100 - 11.1), Adam Vitale (1,200 - 3:17), Nick Hans (200 - 23.4), Adam Vitale (400 - 55.1), Abby Walz (100 - 12.9), Violet Illuzzi (1,200 - 4:13), Abby Walz (200 - 28.0), Abby Walz (400 - 63.2), Laila Velazquez (HJ - 4'-8") lead the team.

4/5 - BIG BLUE TRACK & FIELD CLASSIC - St Joseph Sea H.S.
The 24th Edition of the meet may have been the coldest on record with temps in the 40's and on/off rain. The Vikings were competitive though winning the Fr B SMR, Soph B 4x400, Varsity Boys 400 IH, Varsity Boys Steeple, Champ Boys SMR, Varsity Boys Discus, Frosh Girls 4x400 and Varsity Girls 4x400. Skyla McPherson, Keira Lavezzoli, Adrianna Gigliotti and Violet Illuzi take down the Frosh Girls DMR record with a 14:35.93. Eva Maira is the new frosh girls TJ record holder with a jump of 32'-11.75".

3/29 - CHSAA Season Opener - Icahn Stadium
Perfect weather kicks off the outdoor season. Rob Imparato runs a PR in the 1,600 to take 2nd in 4:35.06. Jeremy Muccio runs a PR 11.22 in the 100. Muccio later doubles up to win the 400 in 50.65.  Shane McAnuff wins the discus in a PR of 151'-7". Chris Perez wins the Soph 400 in 52.57. Giuliana Collegio wins the 1,500 in 5:09.07. Amelia Kagaoan takes 2nd in the 100 hurdles in 20.72. Violet Illuzi wins the Frosh 1,500 in a PR of 5:27.76. Frannie Maglione wins the discus with a toss of 103'-9 as does Laila Velazquez (HJ - 4'-8").

3/15 - Nike Indoor Nationals - Armory
HISTORY! The Boys 4x800 win the Nike Indoor National title avenging a loss to a tough Manhasset team from the previous week's NY State Championships. Cody Doskocil ran a very solid lead off leg to hand off in 1st place with a 1 second PR of 1:57.0. Jonathan Walz broke 1:57 for the first time with a 1:56.7 to extend the lead. DJ Pisapia, just coming back from a strained hamstring, was passed by a Manhasset runner with a 2:00.2 carry. Anchor Matthew Brodsky received the baton trailing by about 2 seconds and slowly inched up and sat behind their anchor leg. Rounding the final turn, Brodsky swung wide and passed Manhasset with 30 meters before the end of the race. The result was a NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP FOR THE VIKINGS! Brodsky's 1:51.4 leg is a 3 second PR, fastest Sea 800 time ever and perhaps one of the fastest 800's for an Islander ever. The time - 7:45.52 FAT is a 6 second seasonal best and breaks the School & S.I. record of 7:49.03 set back in 2010. It's also the 5th Fastest Time in the long History of the CHSAA. The 4x800 "B" guys, being our first "B" team to qualify a relay for Nationals ran a new "B" team school record of 8:16.21 FAT.

3/13-3/14 - New Balance Nationals - Boston, MA
The 4x800 just misses winning their heat and takes 13th overall with a slight improvement on their seasonal best with a 7:51.35. Jace Lawless places 21st in the freshmen long jump with a jump of 18'-.25". In the DMR, while running in the seeded section, the boys hand off the baton in 2nd place after the 800 leg. Jonathan Walz (3:06.7 PR), Jeremy Muccio (49.9 PR), Matthew Brodsky (1:55.6) and Cody Doskocil (4:24.2) combine to run 10:16.51 which is a 4 second seasonal best and #4 in S.I. History. The DMR was 12th overall.

3/8 - NY State Federation Champs - Ocean Breeze
Despite not running with our #2 man, the Varsity Boys 4x800 runs a seasonal best of 7:51.72 to take 2nd at the NYS Champs. The time is the #2 time in S.I. History! Jason Sarnicola runs 9:51.04 FAT for 30th place despite the fast opening 800 and 1600 splits. Giuliana Collegio runs in her 2nd indoor state championships taking 31st with a time of 10:57.68.

3/4 - Eastern States Champs - Armory
The Boys DMR breaks out in a big way with a 10:20.15 time which is the 5th Fastest in S.I. History! Johnny Walz runs a monster lead-off leg time of 3:07.8 and Jeremy Muccio cracks 50 for the first time on the 400 leg. Muccio just 10 minutes earlier ran 22.92 in the 200 which is the 13th Fastest Time in S.I. History!  To close the night out, the 4x800 "B" team broke the "B" team school record with a time of 8:16.57. The previous mark was 8:17.94 from 2008! Soph Jason Sarnicola breaks out with a 2:02.2, a 3 second PR.

3/1 - Ocean Breeze Elite Meet - Ocean Breeze
Jeremy Muccio breaks out in the 300, dipping under 36 for the first time with a 35.99. Matthew Brodsky wins the 400 with a new varsity school record time of 49.31. His time is #3 in S.I. History! Johnny Walz runs a PR in the 800 with a 6th place time of 1:57.59. Cody Doskocil runs 4:23.09 for the full mile, which converts to a 3 second PR in the 1,600. The Girls 4x800, comprised of 2 sophs and 2 frosh, runs a 13 second seasonal best time of 10:12.00 FAT. Violet Illuzzi runs a monster anchor leg for a 7 second PR of 2:31.6

2/23 - USATF Champs - Ocean Breeze
The Girls 4x200, comprised of all frosh, almost pull off the big upset by taking 2nd place in the George Kochman race. Their time of 1:55.13 breaks the frosh school record yet again! The Boys 4x200, also with 4 frosh, just miss their frosh school record with Jace Lawless anchoring in a blistering 23.1! Laila Velazquez drops a big PR on the Varsity Girls SMR.

2/16 - Catholic State Championships - Ocean Breeze
Matthew Brodsky runs a sensational 600 to crush his school record by over two seconds with a time of 1:19.79 FAT for 2nd place. His time is the 2nd Fastest in Staten Island History! He's also the 5th Fastest in the long history of the CHSAA! Soph Jason Sarnicola continued his great weekend with a 12 second PR in the 3,200 and crushes his soph record in 9:36.70 for 3rd place. Capt Rob Imparato drops under 9:50 for the first time with a 9:49.58 to just miss scoring. Cody Doskocil unleashed a furious kick and a 28 sec last lap to win the Catholic State title in the 1,600 with a time of 4:29.80. The Varsity 4x800 was victorious as Johnny Walz (1:57.7) and DJ Pisapia (1:57.3) both break 1:57 for the first time. The 4x400 takes 3rd place. Today's 3rd place finish ties the best finish in Sea history that dates back to 1998!
   On the girls side, Giuliana Collegio runs a tough double to take 2nd in the 3,000 (11:05.69) and 3rd in the 1,500 (5:06.06). She'll be heading to the NY State Champs for the second year in a row! The Frosh Girls 4x800 breaks the school record that dates back to 1996! The foursome runs 10:46.39 to crush the old mark of 11:05.1.

NYS CATHOLIC STATE SEEDS
2/14 - North Shore Pre-Nationals - Armory
The Boys SMR not only punches a ticket to Nationals but finishes as the #2 Fastest Time in Staten Island History - 3:31.75 FAT. The time is only 2nd to our S.I. and School Record time of 3:30.76 FAT set back in 2010. James LaMarca (23.6 PR), frosh Jace Lawless (23.4 PR), Jeremy Muccio (50.3) and a massive PR by Matthew Brodsky (1:54.1) take 2nd place in the race. Jason Sarnicola breaks the Soph Mile record with a 10 sec PR of 4:29.21. The old full mile record was 4:37.57 held by Nick Masters from 2017. His 1,600 conversion is only 2 seconds slower than the great Danny Zaccariello '10 ran in the 1600. Skyla MacPherson breaks teammate Violet Illuzzi's frosh mile record with a time of 5:51.98 FAT. The rest of the mid-distance milers record some nice end of season PR's.

2/8 - 117th Millrose Games - Armory
The Boys 4x800 wins the George T. Eastment CHSAA 4x800 at the Millrose Games for only the second time in school history. The team last won the Eastment final when it was contested at the USATF Champs in 2019. The boys lead from the gun while posting a time of 7:53.09 FAT which is the 3rd Fastest in Staten Island history! The only times ahead of this year's team is our school and Island record of 7:49.03 (2010) and Farrell's 7:52.91 (2006).

2/8 - Frosh/Soph Catholic State Championships - Ocean Breeze
Soph Jason Sarnicola medals in the 1000 (4th - 2:40.15) and 1600 (3rd - 4:38.60). Chris Perez breaks his 600 PR by 5 seconds with a 1:30.83 good enough for 4th place. The Soph 4x400 of Andrew DiDio, Nico Vitigliano, Chris Perez and Marco Cristino run a very solid 3:44.40 for 2nd place. Frosh Mikey Sclafani takes 4th in the 1,000. Later he teams with Joe Imparato, Anthony Bianco and James Herrera to win the Catholic State title in the 4x800 with a time of 9:37.02. Not to be outdone, the Frosh 4x200 breaks their own school record in the trials (1:41.21) and then smashes it in the final (1:40.01) to upset the field and win the Catholic State Championship! In the Varsity portion of the meet, Jeremy Muccio (1:26.01) and Christian Garofano (1:27.16) take 1st and 3rd place.

The frosh/soph girls have an impressive meet as well! Kaylin Caruso sets two PR's in the 55 HH running 10.63 in the final for 2nd place. Kaelyn Carroll breaks 8 in the 55, with a 5th place time of 7.98. Skyla MacPherson leads the frosh/soph girls in the 600 with a time of 1:51.44. The frosh girls school record falls for the second time in 3 weeks! Carroll, Caruso, Maira and Murray combine to run 1:55.49, knocking 2 seconds off their previous school record! Madison Flynn wins the Frosh/Soph TJ with a PR of 30'-3". Eva Maira and Claire Murray earn 3rd and 4th place medals. Keira Lavezzoli jumps 4'-2" in her first time in the high jump to take 2nd place.

2/1-2/2 - Ocean Breeze Invitational - Ocean Breeze
Matthew Brodsky busts out in the 800 with a big second place PR of 1:55.74. His time is the 8th Fastest in S.I. History! Adam Vitale drops 2 secs and inches close to a sub 2 time with a 2:01.97 FAT. Rob Imparato breaks 2:10 for the first time and becomes the 10th Viking this indoor season to break 2:10 - a new school record! Jeremy Muccio runs 23.00 and 50.94 which is unofficially Top 20 S.I. AT in both events. The frosh/soph girls record big PR's with Adrianna Gigliotti dropping 7 seconds!

BOYS TAKE 2ND AT SECTIONALS; 3RD IN THE CITY

1/26 - NYC Champs - Armory

The boys shock the competition and take 3rd in NYC for our best finish in school history. On the Sectional level, the boys place 2nd for our best finish since winning in 2011. The Boys 4x400 drops 2 seconds for a 3:25.37 - the 7th Fastest in S.I. History. Matthew Brodsky & DJ Pisapia go 1-2 in the 600 while Cody Doskocil unleashes a big kick to win the 1,600. Brodsky wins the City & Sectional Track MVP. The Boys 4x800 takes 2nd as well. Jace Lawless has a monster jump of 20'-4.5" to take 4th, crush frosh school record and qualify for the New Balance Nationals. On the Girls side, a very young squad takes 2nd in the Sectionals missing the win by just 7 points. The Girls 4x200 wins the Sectional title. Laila Velazquez (HJ), Miriam Azer (PV) and frosh Eva Maira (TJ) win Sectional titles as well. Azer wins the Sectional Field MVP. Giuliana Collegio drops a massive PR in the 3,000 to break the school record held by Krissy Sarnicola (10:46.69). Collegio would take silver medals in the 3,000 & 1500.

1/18 - Mayor's Cup Relays - Armory
The Varsity boys 4x400 wins in 3:27.44 for a three second seasonal best. The Boys 4x800 "B" guys knock 9 seconds off their seasonal best with a 8:21.33 for 2nd place. The Girls 4x800, comprised of 2 sophs and 2 frosh, run a twelve second seasonal best time of 10:25.79. The Girls 4x200 breaks the Frosh school record with a time of 1:57.44. The Boys 4x200 breaks the frosh school record with a time of 1:42.36. The previous record was 1:43.9 from 2006!

1/12 - S.I. Champs - Ocean Breeze
Shane McAnuff wins his first shot put S.I. Championship. Senior Matthew Brodsky wins the 600 for the 3rd consecutive year in a row. The Boys and Girls 4x800 win as well! Silver medals were won by Giuliana Collegio (1500), Laila Velazquez (HJ), Mariam Azer (PV), Jeremy Muccio (300), DJ Pisapia (1000), Cody Doskocil (1600), Jason Sarnicola (3200), Boys 4x200, Boys 4x400.

The milers absolutely kill it today with massive PR's by the bulk of the crew. Cody Doskocil breaks 4:30 for the first time and 5 guys break 4:40. Adam Vitale has a great day with a 9 second PR in the 1600 (4:36.79) and then doubles up with an impressive 1:28.21 FAT. Matt Brodsky runs 35.68 FAT which breaks the varsity 300 record of 35.79 held by Jason Marchese '20. It's his second school record in as many days. Jace Lawless betters his own frosh record in the LJ with an 18'-9" jump. Avery Rosado breaks the frosh 600 record with a 1:29.42 FAT. The old record was held by the great Daniel Zaccariello  from 2007!

Senior Matthew Brodsky lowers his school record in the Invitational 400 to a 49.74 FAT. He would place 8th overall. It's the 5th fastest in Staten Island history!
1/4 - Freedom Games GIRLS - Ocean Breeze
Giuliana Collegio runs a big PR in the 1,600 with a 5:20.73 FAT, a 12 second PR! Violet Illuzzi runs 5:53.93 FAT to take 9 secs off. MacKenzie Bennett drops 24 secs off her PR as well! Madison Flynn pops over 29 feet in the TJ for the first time.

12/28 - Marine Corp Holiday Classic - Armory
The Boys 4x800 runs their first 4x800 of the season and not only hits the #1 time in the country but they're already the 8th fastest in S.I. history! The 7:56.54 FAT is a US #1 and the first team in the U.S. to break the elusive 8 minute barrier! The "A" team wins and the "B" team runs a solid 8:30.68 FAT for 5th place medals. The Girls 4x800, comprised of 1 soph and 3 frosh combine to run a 2nd place 10:37.54 FAT. The quest for the girls is now to break the 10 minute barrier!

12/27 - Ocean Breeze Holiday Festival - Ocean Breeze
The Varsity Boys DMR's are super impressive placing 2nd, 5th and 8th overall. Johnny Walz continues his fine running on the comeback trail with a 3:15.6 lead-off leg on the "B" team as soph Jason Sarnicola breaks 4:40 for the first time. Adam Vitale runs real well in a 3:21 lead-off leg for the "C" team all by himself!
As a matter of fact our Varsity DMR "A" team is ranked #2, "B" team would be #3 and our "C" team would be #6 in NY state! The Frosh "A" 4x400 runs a seasonal best 3:54.68 FAT to inch closer to the frosh school record as all 4 frosh break 60 seconds. The Frosh girls 4x4 runs a seasonal best as well with a 4:39.76 FAT.
12/22 - Bishop Loughlin Games BOYS - Ocean Breeze
Cody Doskocil and Jaosn Sarnicola get things kicked off with 10 and 23 second PR's in the Invitational 2 Mile. Sarnicola's 9:51.90 FAT establishes a Soph 2 mile record and breaks the Soph 3,200 record set back in 2021 by Dylan Doskocil (2021). Jace Lawless has a big day taking 2nd in the frosh long jump and frosh 55 meters. His 6.93 FAT breaks the frosh school record set back in 2017 by Ethan Hekert (7.03). In his first time jumping, Lawless jumps 18'-6.25" breaking his second frosh record! The old mark was held by Jimmy Salerno (18'-4.25" - 1997). Matthew Brodsky wins the seeded section of the Varsity 600, only to get nipped by a runner in the 10th heat...yes, the 10th heat! DJ Pisapia takes 3rd in the 1,000 with a 7 second PR. The Frosh 4x400 takes 2nd as does the Soph 4x400 "A" team. The Soph "B" team earns 4th place medals. To end the day, Pisapia holds off a runner from Medgar Evers to win the Varsity 4x400.

12/21 - Bishop Loughlin Games GIRLS - Ocean Breeze
The frosh girls get a start in the field events and Adrianna Gigliotti leads the frosh in the LJ and TJ. Her 13'-2" was 2nd in the frosh LJ and she led the TJ'ers with a 29'-.25" jump. Adrianna Comello takes 4th in the frosh LJ with a 12'-9.5" jump. Senior Laila Velazquez ties her PR with a 4'-8" for 6th place. Junior Frances Maglione takes 5th in the weight throw with a 33'-1.25". Kaitlyn DeSimone takes 4th in the Soph 600 and Giuliana Collegio takes 6th in the Invitational 2M. The Frosh 4x400 "A" (2nd Place ) and "B" (3rd Place) earn medals as does the Soph 4x400 (5th Place)

12/14 - CHSAA Relay Carnival - Armory
The team makes its inaugural trip to the Armory in Manhattan and takes home some medals. Mikey Sclafani gets the crowd to its feet with a big 32 second last lap to kick to the gold medal in the Frosh 1600 with a 5:13.0. Jason Sarnicola wins the Soph 1,600 running all alone with a 4:50.5. Cody Doskocil takes a page out of Sclafani's playbook and wins for the second week in a row, this time in the 1600 with a 4:35.5. Giuliana Collegio wins a tough Girls 1,500 with a PR of 5:07.86. Miriam Azer wins the Girls PV tying a career best 7'-6". With spikes only permitted in the jumps and 55/300, PR's were tough but the team was very competitive.

Indoor '24-'25 kicks off with the Frosh/Soph Girls DMR winning and breaking a 7 year meet record! The Soph Boys 4x400 and Frosh Girls 4x200 win gold medals as well! Cody Doskocil anchors the Varsity 4x400 with a big last leg to just miss 1st place! He would later double up and PR and win the 3,200 meters. Frannie Maglione and Shane McAnuff win the weight throws!

11/23 - NY State Federation Champs - Bowdoin Park
A VERY nice end to an historic XC '24 season. In the boys first trip to the State Champs, the squad finished in 17th place overall despite being projected to finish in 27th. They also finish as the top team from Staten Island. Doskocil (#7), Sarnicola (#9), Imparato (#11), Vitale (#15) and Pisapia (#21) all hit the all-time list. Giuliana Collegio sets a monster PR of 3:01 in her second state appearance and frosh Violet Illuzzi runs a solid 22:30.

Varsity Boys Punch ticket to state meet for the 1st time!

11/9 - Catholic State Champs - VCP
HISTORY! The Varsity boys shock the league and become the first Sea boys team to qualify for the NY State Federation Champs! The team goes 7/7 with PR's led by Senior Cody Doskocil who runs 13:15.94, a 32 second PR! His time is #4 ALL-TIME and the 72nd Fastest in Staten Island history! Robert Imparato (13:55 - #30 AT) and Jason Sarnicola (13:56 - #31 AT) break 14 mins for the first time as well. Sarnicola's time is also #3 on the Soph AT list. Adam Vitale (14:09) and DJ Pisapia (14:20) crush their PR's. Matthew Brodsky smashes 15 mins for the first time, 14:47. The team's 13:55 - 5 man average also breaks the school record as well. Soph Giuliana Collegio moves up the Sea All-Time list with a 16:22 - #5 ALL-TIME. Frosh Violet Illuzzi crushes her PR with a 17:36 to qualify for the state meet as well! Big time improvements for much of the time and the sky is the limit for this girls team that ran with 3 sophs and 4 frosh in the Top 7.

The boys and girls both take 2nd place overall. The "B" teams win their races with the girls scoring a perfect 15 pts and the boys topping Farrell by 1 point.

11/2 - Frosh/Soph Catholic State Champs - VCP
The Frosh Girls take 3rd overall dropping almost 20 secs off their 5 man average. Violet Iluzzi breaks 11 mins for the first time to pace the girls team!  The Frosh boys place 10th with a 5 man average of 9:56, 21 seconds better than last week! Giuliana Collegio finishes in 3rd in the Soph race in 16:30 - #7 ALL-TIME in Sea history.

10/26 - NYC Championships - VCP
Frosh Girls take 2nd in NYC and 2nd in the NY Archdiocese. Jason Brown continues his hot running with another 40 second PR to run 15:49 in the JV race.

10/19 - Staten Island Champs - Ocean Breeze
The Varsity Boys take 3rd and the Varsity Girls place 4th overall. Rob Imparato (#2 AT - 16:29), Jason Sarnicola (#4 AT - 16:34) and Cody Doskocil (#5 AT - 16:39) all hit the all-time list. Jason Brown leads the JV boys to 3rd place as well. Giuliana Collegio runs a big race with a 19:47 for 3rd overall just a few seconds off the school record for the sophomore. A spirited effort for 4th overall for a varsity squad that sent 3 sophs and 4 frosh to the starting line.

10/13 - Manhattan College Invitational - VCP
Jason Brown has the biggest PR on the Varsity boys team dropping 1:02 with a 16:02. The all underclassmen girls varsity team sends 3 sophs and 4 frosh that run some very solid times. All frosh make their debuts on the varsity 2.5 courses. 
9/28 - Six Flags Wild Safari - Jackson ,NJ
The cross country team heads to a swampy, muggy, rainy Wild Safari and records some nice performances. Soph Jason Sarnicola leads the varsity team for the first time with an 11th place finish in 16:36. His time is 4th on the AT list. Cody Doskocil (16:39 - #6), Robert Imparato (16:44 - #9) and Adam Vitale (17:17 - #16) all hit the all-time list as well. The varsity team earns a 3rd place plaque and has the 10th best 5 man average of over 80 varsity teams in the meet. Guiliana Collegio paces the varsity girls with a 19:31. The frosh girls take 3rd in their race led by Violet Illuzzi who's 12:56 is the fastest in Sea's frosh history. The frosh boys just miss a plaque with a 4th place finish. Michael Sclafani (#6 - 11:43), James Herrara (#7 - 11:49), Joshua Zucconi (#8 - 11:51) and Thomas DeMarco (#10 - 11:58) all crack the all-time list. 9/21 - Bob Pratt Invitational - Sunken Meadow Park
The XC squad headed out to Long Island with the goal of putting in hard efforts over a very challenging course - Mission Accomplished! Cody Doskocil (#3 - 17:46), Jason Sarnicola (#4 - 18:06) and Robert Imparato (#5 - 18:08) all hit the all-time lists to lead the varsity team to 4th place in their race. Giuliana Collegio runs an impressive 21:44 for 4th place in her race. Skyla MacPherson paces the frosh girls to 2nd place in the team standings. 
Since this is a new 3,200 course, the Top 10 frosh boys and girls make the initial frosh all-time list for Sunken Meadows.

9/14 - Regis Invitational - VCP
Cody Doskocil paces the varsity team with a 14:01 clocking. The varsity squad takes 4th in their race and 9th of 40 teams overall while facing many of the top squads in NYC & NY/NJ. Jason Sarnciola runs 14:09, which is #5 SO AT. The boys 5 man avg was 15:04 last year at this meet and was 14:24 today! Guiliana Collegio runs a very impressive 16:46 for 6th in her race. It represents a PR of 1:44 secs and is the 13th fastest of 300+ girls that ran the course today!

9/7 - SIHST&FA Season Opener - Ocean Breeze
The Varsity boys kick off XC '24 with a monster effort at Ocean Breeze. The top 4 runners are separated by 8 seconds as pack running leads to the team turning many heads. Four teams are separated by a mere 2 pts as the team finishes in 2nd place. The Frosh boys take 3rd in their race led by Michael Sclafani's 4th place finish. Violet Illuzzi wins the frosh girls race and the top 4 girls place in the Top 6 in the race. Despite some confusion as the course markings fell down the girls dominate to win the frosh girls race.
