2/14 - Catholic State Championships - Ocean Breeze
Adam Vitale completes the "Grand Slam" winning the Island, Sectional, City & Catholic State Championships in the 1,000 meters. Jace Lawless takes 4th in the 55 meters just missing his PR with a 6.58. Chris Perez runs a PR in the 600 of 1:22.04 to take 3rd overall. his time is the 8th Fastest in S.I. History. Perez & Vitale punched their ticket to the NY State Championships in March. The 4x800, with 3 men running on the double, runs a seasonal best time of 8:00.50 FAT for 4th place. The boys finish in 9th place overall in the meet that encompasses every Catholic School all over NY State.
On the girls side, our 4x200 runs a seasonal best time of 1:50.10 to qualify for the Catholic State Championship final. In the finals, the team took 5th place overall. Giuliana Collegio took 3rd in the 3,000. The 4x800, comprised of 2 sophs & 2 frosh runs a seasonal best time of 10:40.30 for 5th place. Mariam (3rd - PV), Eva Maira (4th - TJ) and Keira Lavezzoli (HJ - 5th) all earn medals in their specialties. The girls team finishes in 8th place overall.
