10/10 - CHSAA Chris Mancusi Invitational - Ocean Breeze Park
FINALLY!
After over 7 months without any competitions, some semblance of "normalcy" as our league contests XC in small, broken up meets all over NYC/Westchester/Long Island. Many thanks to CHSAA commissioner George Febles for working on the logistics and our friends at Ocean Breeze for laying out a new 3000/4000 meter course on the grounds near the Ocean Breeze Indoor track complex
The freshmen get things kicked off with a convincing win over Xavier, Farrell and Cathedral Prep. Vin DeGrado wins the "A" race and our 5 finishers all place in the top 6 in the race with a near perfect 19 point score. The "B" guys are led by Dean DelPriore who takes 5th place and leads the team to first place as well over Xavier H.S.
Sophs Dylan Doskocil and Joey Wilson lead the varsity guys as the team shakes off the rust in their first hard effort in months.

Note: Today's meet was named after yours truly...which is strange because I don't feel old BUT.....
This year marks my 20th year of coaching this great sport - I graduated St. Joe's in June 2001 and came back to coach in September 2001 thanks to my GREAT H.S. coaches John Sexton & Jim Salerno. The thing I'm most proud is that I'm one of many alumni that have come back to coach over the years. We preach the "brotherhood" and its so true - Alumni coaches like Eddie Vaccaro '01, Kevin Donofrio '04, Daniel Kelley '04, Cristian Kocurek '09, Daniel Zaccariello '10, Alex Rosenbauer '13, Alex Gargiso '13 and currently Sam Mondello '13. I'm so appreciative to the CHSAA for the honor
