Dylan Doskocil wins the NYC Soph XC Championship!
10/24 - Frosh/Soph NYC Championships - Ocean Breeze Park
Asserting himself from the gun; Doskocil is the 5th Viking to win a Soph Sectional XC crown joining Ralph Scalici (1989), Joe DePalma (1990), Matt Lingeza (1992) and Daniel Zaccariello (2008). Joey Wilson cracks a top 5 finish.
The Frosh are simply outstanding today with 27/28 recording PR's and many in a big way. In the "A" race, newly minted frosh leader Matt Caracciolo busts out with a 4th place finish and 47 second PR in 11:13. He crushes the school record that was set last week by Shawn Hartnett by 42 seconds! Shawn Hartnett and Vin DeGrado would also slip under the old school record as well. Lucas Sorrentino and Kyle Bille run big races with PR's of 29 seconds and 44 seconds respectively. Team-wise the Frosh place 3rd in both the NYC and NY Sectional team races. In the "B" race, Connor Galanaugh almost steals the race with a 2nd place finish and 41 second PR of 12:12. Toni Felski continues his hot running with almost another 1 minute PR. Big PR's are set in the "B" races as well as Gavin Byrnes (-1:14 secs), Justin Kane (-1:04 secs), Jonathan Keiling (-2:13 secs), Joseph Oliva (-1:10secs), Kevin Hanna (-1:12 secs), Josh Morkin (-2:00 secs) and Harry Paletto (-5:09 secs) crush their previous best times.
