1/15 - Frosh/Soph NYC Championships - Ocean Breeze
The freshmen take 4th place overall out of 31 teams in a very competitive city championship. Nick Mouzakis takes 2nd in the frosh TJ with a 2 foot PR, 35-8". He later would take 3rd in the frosh LJ leaping 16'-8.5". Damian Aviles places 4th in the frosh TJ with a PR of 33'-5". DJ Pisapia (800 - 2:16.23) and Cody Doskocil (1600- 5:08.74) nab 3rd place medals in new personal records. Robert Imparato is 4th in the city and 2nd in the NY section in the 3,200 with a time of 11:22.94 FAT. The Frosh 4x200 (1:50.07) places 3rd and the Frosh 4x800 (10:03.15) takes 2nd place. In a nice display of depth the Frosh 4x400 "A" team takes 2nd and the "B" team turns some heads by taking 3rd overall from the 2nd heat. James LaMarca is the first freshmen to break 60 seconds in the 400 this year - 59.9!
On the soph level, Marioluca Fabi breaks his TJ PR by almost 3 feet for 2nd place performance of 37'-3.25". He later would add a silver medal in the high jump with a jump of 5'-4". Nick Runfola (4th) and Joe Zawatsky (6th) qualify for the soph championship 55 final.
