1/15 - Staten Island Champs - Ocean Breeze
Both boy and girls teams have a competitive day and finish in 3rd place. The Doskocil brothers get things kicked off with a 3rd (10:02.07) and 5th (10:17.68) finish in the 3,200. Cody broke his PR by 13 seconds! Nick Runfola takes 2nd in a big PR of 6.82 FAT. He is the top returner in the 55 for next year! In perhaps the most exciting race of the day, soph Matthew Brodsky comes from way back to win the 600 in 1:24.43. It knocks almost two seconds off the sophomore school record that he lowered the day before. Joey Wilson and Derek Pisapia ran tough in the 1,000 with a 2nd and 5th place finish. Wilson would come back later and take 2nd in the 1600 in 4:29.77. The 4x200 runs a near two second seasonal best time of 1:35.99. Runfola splits 23.1 on the anchor leg! The 4x400 gets 3rd and an all-soph 4x800 runs 8:54.04 to take 3rd as well. Garofano runs a big anchor leg PR of 2:13.5. In the field, Shane McAnuff breaks the soph school record with a toss of 41'-6.25" for the silver medal. Matt Menecchino is third in the TJ with a PR of 38'-8.25" and Marioluca Fabi is 5th in 36'-1". Fabi would later PR in the HJ with a 2nd place jump of 5'-6"

On the girls side, Jessica Longo runs a gritty 3,000 to start the day with a 5th place time of 11:58. Vic Dziubela is tough and runs PR's in the 1000 (3:07.14) and 600 (1:41.97) - both second place finishes. Nicolina Siracusa wins the girls pole vault and takes 3rd in the 55. The 4x800 (5th) and 4x400 (3rd) run very competitive races. An exciting 4x200 led to our win with freshmen Isabella McCumsky on the anchor leg. Olivia Cowan takes 3rd in the TJ and LJ.
