5/13 - Frosh/Soph Catholic State Champs - Icahn Stadium
The Soph Boys have a day for the record books finishing in 2nd place at the Catholic States and our highest finish ever at this meet! Matt Brodsky gets things kicked off with a PR in the 400 IH just missing not only a soph record but a Catholic State title with a 2nd place time of 58.30 FAT. He would double up with an impressive 51.18 FAT to take 2nd in the 400 and break his own soph record. Cody Doskocil wins the Soph Catholic State Championship in the 2,000 Steeple and smashes the school record with a time of 6:39.74 FAT. Doskocil would double up, on the iron man double, to take 3rd in the 3,200 with a 10:24.27 FAT. Johnny Walz takes 4th in his steeple debut in 7:24.19 FAT and Santino Mariano just misses scoring in 6th place. Christian Garofano, who ran his first 800 only 4 months ago, takes 2nd place in yet another PR of 2:05.28 FAT. DJ Pisapia runs 2:06.28 for 4th place. Jeremy Muccio runs an impressive 23.76 in the open 200 and just misses scoring. The 4x800 takes 2nd (8:44.07) and 4x400 (3:40.87) gets third on the big legs by Luis Quiles (sub 55 - 54.7) and Jeremy Muccio (sub 52 - 51.89). Soph thrower Shane McAnuff scores in the discus (3rd - 118'-0) and shot put (2nd - 39'-2.5)
On the girls side, Frannie Maglione wins the Frosh Catholic State title in the discus 72'-10" and takes 3rd in the shot put 27'-0". Anya Scattaglia makes the Soph 100 final and runs a PR of 14.29 FAT. Gianna Caputo just misses breaking 31 in the 200 and Isabella McCumskey is on the comeback trail with a nice time of 29.78 FAT in the 200.
